It's hard to believe this enduring tune was written almost 80 years ago. One of those timeless pieces that spans almost two generations, it was one of 50 recordings chosen in 2004 by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry. Jerry Sawicki's alto sax solo in this rendition reveals why he is known in many circles as "The Great Harmonizer."
My heart is sad and lonely, I cry for you and you, Dear only. Why haven't you seen it? I'm all for you, Body and Soul.
I spend my days in longing, and wondering why it's me you're wronging. I tell you I mean it, I'm all for you, Body and Soul.
I can't believe it, I just can't conceive it, that you'd turn away romance.
Are you pretending? Is this the ending, unless I could have just one more chance Dear.
My life a wreck you're making. You know I'm yours for just the taking.
I'd gladly surrender. Myself to you, Body and Soul.
