I first heard this tune on the radio and fell in love with it. Calling the station to find out who the Artist was, I found it was five-time Grammy nominee composer, conductor and pianist David Benoit. Contacting Mr. Benoit's manager Ron Moss, I further discovered that there were no lyrics, so I penned those you hear in this recording, and obtained Mr. Benoit's endorsement of them.

They came easily as though my "Muse" were responding to this great melody as well as I. Written specifically for my late husband Jim Holbrook, who passed away suddenly after only three and a half years of marriage: Jim was only 48 years old. I never saw him happier than when he was at the helm of his sailboat. My favorite image of him is face to the wind, setting sun illuminating his silver hair and sky-blue eyes, and a smile from "here to Texas."

I believe, on some mystical level, that he helped write the lyrics to this song with me.

Woody Brubaker's wonderful arrangement & keyboard, Rick Howard's incredible guitar, and Stu Shelton's addition of some really fine piano in the second chorus just seemed to "fall into place."

This is the first time this song has been recorded with lyrics, and I am delighted to say that they are....ours.
