From the recording "I Wish You Love (Que Reste-T-LL De Nos Amours"
Once I learn a tune in its native language, I have a hard time singing it again in English! It "flows better" with the original lyrics, and this is no exception.
However, many people in the USA are unaware that this tune is French in origin, written by Léo Chauliac & Charles Trenet and first recorded in 1942.
Our friend Marcia Harrison suggested it for the CD, and I thought it a perfect opportunity to introduce a French tune to my published songs. As with all the songs I do in a language other than English, I include at least a few words, if not a full chorus, in English for those of us who are most familiar with it that way.
Note too, Rick Howard's incredible guitar in this arrangement.
