The story goes that Tom Jobim and DeMoreas would have coffee every afternoon while watching a lovely girl make her way to the beach. In fact, the tune was written somewhat earlier for a play (Dirigível), but was later connected to Heloisa Pinheiro , and a myth (in which there is usually a kernel of truth), was born.
This version was arranged by Naples' own Claude Rhea, on keyboard, with Rick Howard on guitar. Note Claude's polymorphic piano solo that virtually leaps off the CD! (Sound clip includes Portuguese chorus only. Second chorus in English on CD).
